Description
The Coveralls protects from Arc flash heat exposure / Electric Arc hazards and is constructed of materials that are Inherently FR (Flame Resistant). It will remain Flame resistant after years of frequent & repeated laundering. This means that the FR protection won’t wash or wear away. Manufactured with an Inherently Flame Resistant Modacrylic blend. All fibers used in the construction of these garments are Inherently Flame-Resistant, including the thread. The protective Coveralls are manufactured with DuPont™ Protera™ fabric. The fabric is durable and comfortable and meets NFPA 70E, ASTM F1506-02ae1, CSA Z462-08 requirements.
- 16 oz/yd² fabric has an Arc Rating of 42 cal/cm² ATPV.
- Hazard Risk Category 4.
- Wrists and front closures with a Nomex Velcro® safety flap.
- Sewn with flame-resistant thread
- Wide Pant Legs that are easy to slide on over work boots, ankles with Nomex® Velcro® hook and loop straps.
- Hood Arc Rating (ATPV): 42 cal/cm²
- Lens-Visible Light Transmittal: 52%
- Meets NFPA 70E-2012 and ASTM F-1506-02ae1, ANSI Z87.1.
- Note: Personal protective equipment should be chosen to meet or exceed the expected incident energy at a specific work site.
The Faceshield window is manufactured with Oberon’s proprietary ArcX™ energy absorbing polycarbonate material. The Faceshield window of the 42 cal/cm² Faceshield offers a Visible Light Transmission (VLT) of 52%. The shield’s outer surface is manufactured with Oberon’s proprietary material Silicote™-1 scratch resistant coating, for longer product life, and the inner surface manufactured with a permanent anti-fog coating, for increased visibility. Meets ANSI Z87.1 requirements.
42 calorie Arc Flash Hood with Ventilation System
These Hoods circulate fresh cool air inside the Hood to keep workers cool and comfortable in hot situations. Removable, replaceable vent fans and battery pack will provide 9 hours of continuous operation. Designed for worker comfort and reliability.
LCI Series Inherently FR Modacrylic Blend
LCI Series of arc flash garments are manufactured from Inherently FR Dupont Protera fabric. Dupont Protera was developed as an alternative to FR Treated Cotton blends. This fabric requires no special laundering care.
Coveralls and Bib-Overalls feature ankles with Nomex® Velcro® hook and loop straps. Coats and Coveralls feature wrists and front closures with Nomex® Velcro safety flap. Hood Windows and faceshields are manufactured with Oberon’s proprietary ArcXTM energy absorbing polycarbonate plastic. Our shields provide superior Visible Light Trans- mission (VLT) and have scratch resistant coating on the outer surface (for longer product life) and antifog coating on the inner surface (for improved visibility).

Determine the Correct Protection Level
To evaluate Fire Retardant clothing materials in order to measure the heat transferred through the fabric, two values are calculated: Arc Thermal Performance Value (ATPV)…the minimum energy causing the predicted onset of second-degree burns and Heat Attenuation Factor (HAF)…the percentage of total energy of the arc that the fabric prevents from passing through, OSHA requires that each employer must assess the potential hazards in the work environment and determine the appropriate clothing materials using ASTM PS57-97. Always do a hazard assessment. You will need to know electrical system voltage, fault current available, number of phases, Arc time duration, estimated Arc gap, minimum distance from the Arc, and Arc configuration.
